carbonio

2025

A project for BREAKOUT Hackathon by Colosseum, 2025

Overview

Carbonio is a decentralized application for recording and verifying carbon emissions on the Solana blockchain, built for the BREAKOUT Hackathon by Colosseum. Companies register and upload their carbon data, third-party auditors verify it, and consumers can scan QR codes to see verified footprints. It is built with Next.js, TypeScript, Express, and Anchor smart contracts, uses IPFS (Pinata) and Supabase for storage, and supports NFT creation through Metaplex. With separate portals for consumers, companies, and auditors, it creates a multi-user ecosystem that tracks and rewards emission reduction.

Notes

Carbonio (2025) is a decentralized application built by Phuoc for the BREAKOUT Hackathon by Colosseum in 2025 for recording and verifying carbon emissions on the Solana blockchain, promoting transparency and accountability in sustainability efforts.

Carbonio is built with Next.js 14.2, TypeScript, Express.js, and Anchor Framework for Solana smart contracts. It uses Pinata (IPFS) for decentralized file storage, Supabase for relational data, and Metaplex for NFT creation. It features three interconnected portals: consumer dashboard, company portal, and admin/auditor dashboard.

In Carbonio, companies register and upload carbon data, which gets stored immutably on the Solana blockchain. Third-party auditors verify the data, and consumers can scan QR codes to view verified carbon footprints. The system fosters a multi-stakeholder ecosystem that tracks and incentivizes emission reduction.
